Our starting commitments
YMAI is in its founding stage. Before activities involving children or young people begin, the relevant chapter must identify an appropriate adult or institutional safeguarding contact, agree local consent arrangements, and meet school and legal requirements.
There are no operational YMAI programmes or appointed independent safeguarding officers at launch. We will not describe an adviser or reporting route as independent until it exists.
Participation and conduct
- Treat people with respect. Harassment, discrimination, bullying, exploitation, and sexual misconduct are unacceptable.
- Do not share private information, images, or recordings without appropriate permission.
- Follow school rules, local safeguarding requirements, and the terms of any tool used.
- Use institution-approved spaces and channels. Avoid unsupervised private one-to-one contact between adults and minors.
- Get approval before organising an activity or using the YMAI name.
Raise a concern
For a non-urgent concern about YMAI, email matthewlloydw@gmail.com. Share only what is needed to explain the issue. This is the founder’s contact, not an independent reporting service.
If a concern involves the founder, contact a trusted parent, guardian, school safeguarding lead, or the relevant local authority instead. Founding leadership has no authority to prevent a report or interfere with a lawful investigation.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services in their location. The website and email inbox are not emergency services and are not monitored continuously.
Before each activity
Organisers must confirm named supervision, consent requirements, accessible participation, risk and privacy arrangements, and an appropriate way to report concerns. A chapter or association cannot rely on this page alone as its safeguarding procedure.
