Our work

AI literacy, practical building, and public understanding. These are the starting priorities for YMAI’s first programmes.

These activities are being developed. No programme dates or places are confirmed yet. Register your interest to take part or help organise.

AI literacy

Understand how AI works, where it fails, and how to use it responsibly.

Workshops and peer-led study groups, with room for complete beginners.

Practical projects

Move from curiosity to building something useful.

Small teams exploring real problems, testing ideas, and sharing what they learn.

Public understanding

Bring more student voices into the conversation.

School discussions, accessible explainers, and conversations about AI and society.

A practical starting point

Our proposed first cycle combines an introductory AI workshop, a small team project, and a student-led discussion about the technology’s wider effects. Associations can adapt the format to their experience, school calendar, and available equipment.

Projects should solve a clear problem, use data responsibly, and be honest about results. Discussions should make room for both the opportunities and the concerns that AI brings.

Ways to contribute

Students can help develop workshop activities, lead a study group, build a project, or write an accessible explainer. Educators and mentors can advise on content, support safe delivery, and connect us with schools.

We welcome both technical and non-technical contributions. Programme participation and any costs will be explained before registration opens.
